So.. its wednesday morning the 14th of April, Ed and I are on route 40 heading through Amarillo Texas, taking detours along old route 66 through small towns along the way..one of those towns was Mclean, where we saw some lovely photo opportunities... the town was dedicated to the townspeople in 1912 by a British rancher dude who died on the Titanic !
Even though were headed into Texas...we came through Oklahoma last night...Angie Brookes...Oklahoma is not flat girl lol...its only flat if you compare it to Arkansas and the beautiful Osark mountain range we drove through..that really was beautiful.
It has completely dawned upon me the magnitude of the task ahead..and the size of the Country.
The RV has held up well, even with the storms we drove through going from nashville to memphis...we heard you all had bad weather from the storms with flood warnings...imagine driving through it..imagine cycling through it...J
Sleeping in the RV has been okay. Ed cannot hear my snoring lol...things will change when we pick up Charlie in LA.
The views of America are breath taking even when we get lost..yes we got lost and headed 60 miles down route 30 south towards Texarcana...I was not driving lol.. However the detour did take us through the home of the American Quartz mountains in the Ozarks..little stalls outside mountain homes selling huge pieces of beautiful pink and yellow quartz.
The accents are getting thick and completely eerily strange..where you'll boys from than .... Its fun talking to everyone when we stop..they all ask about the Bikefight..they wish me luck and then tell me I must be mad.
Todate I have to say I have seen some wonderful parts of America.. however I have left the most beautiful part of America at home..my wife.
Your traveller
Tony

Hey Tony! I've just spent the last 2 hours reading all about your great adventure and want to send my heartfelt THANKS for what is happening! My husband died just before Christmas after 18+ years of fighting lymphoma. My grief is easier today because of what you are doing to help others fight this monster disease. My prayers are with you, thank you sir, for reaching out to help others. God continue to bless you-big time!
